What We Believe
STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
THE BIBLE: We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
2 Timothy 3:16 Romans 15:4 Proverbs 30:5
THE TRINITY: We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and worthy of complete devotion.
Genesis 1:1 John 1:1-3 Psalm 90:2 2 Corinthians 13:14
THE PROBLEM: We believe that sin has separated every person from God and His purpose for their life.
Romans 3:23-24 Romans 6:23 Isaiah 59:2
THE SAVIOR (Jesus): We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, as both God and man, is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, then rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
John 14:6 1 Cor 15:3-4 Galatians 4:4-5 Philippians 2:5-11
THE SOLUTION (Salvation): We believe that in order to receive forgiveness, be reconciled to God and “be born again” we must repent of our sins, declare with our mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, and submit to His will for our lives.
Matthew 10:32 Acts 16:31 Romans 10:9 Ephesians 2:8-9
THE DECLARATION OF FAITH: We believe baptism symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is how we publicly declare our faith and new life in Christ.
Matthew 28:18-20 Acts 2:41 Acts 8:12
THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe the Holy Spirit is God and functions as the Comforter and Counselor like Jesus promised He would. The Holy Spirit is a “He” not an “it.” He knows the Father’s thoughts and communicates those thoughts to you. When you pray or read the Bible and sense God speaking to you through those activities, that’s an example of the Holy Spirit at work in your life.
Acts 1:8 John 16:7-13 Romans 8:26-27
THE CHURCH: We believe the church is the people, not the place. It’s a group of believers unified by faith in Christ who meet together regularly for praise, worship, prayer, friendship, encouragement and the ‘breaking of bread’.
Psalm 100:4 Acts 2:42 Ephesians 2:19-20 Hebrews 10:24-25
THE FOCUS: We believe the Church must be founded and focused on prayer. The atmosphere of believers who gather must be one of people opening their heart and coming to God in a posture of praise, worship, petition and supplication.
Acts 12:5 Ephesians 6:18 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 James 5:13 Philippians 4:5-7
THE CALLING: We believe God knows, loves, equips and positions every individual to successfully achieve His vision for their life, in the community He carried them to. As we follow the calling God has for our lives, we long for and fall more in love with our Heavenly Father who reveals Himself more and more to us throughout the journey.
Jeremiah 1:5 Ephesians 2:10 Ephesians 3:20 Ephesians 4:1
THE END RESULT: We believe Jesus will return again as he promised. Our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 7:21-23 John 14:1-3 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 Revelation 20:15 Revelation 22:12
